Administrative BoardThe “governing board” of the church.This board facilitates long and short range planning and goal setting and establishes policies and priorities.They vote on proposals brought forth by other committees and approve the annual operating budget.

Board of Trustees Responsible for all supervision and oversight and care for all real property of the church. A very “hands on” committee.

Finance CommitteeResponsible for the financial planning and for funding the ministry of the church.Responsible for the development of the church budget.

Endowment Fund CommitteeDevelops and administers the endowment fund for SRVUMC.

Memorials and Gifts CommitteeManages special gifts to the church and sees that the wishes of the donor are honored.

Staff-Parish Relations CommitteeActs as a “Human Resource” committee for the church.Functions as a liaison between the congregation and the pastors/staff of the church.Helps them to achieve goals, evaluating their progress and effectiveness, and sharing ideas.

Committee on Lay LeadershipThis committee gets to know the congregation, learns their gifts and interests, and finds the best candidates for leadership positions within the church.

Adult MinistriesDevelops programs and classes to support adult spiritual growth and education.Includes adult Bible study, Sunday School, and fellowship.
Worship CommissionProvides support for the logistics and liturgical elements of the worship service and maintenance of the sanctuary.

Welcome TeamThe Welcome Team coordinates our efforts to invite, welcome, integrate, and send people into service/ministry.This includes calling visitors, coffee hour hospitality, Sunday morning greeters, Discovery new member classes, and communications in various forms.

Other Service Opportunities in Support of the Church
Sunday School TeachersWe need adults to help share our ministry with the young ones of our church family.Serve as part of a rotating team for the Preschool Class, teaching on the same Sunday of each month, or lead a 4 to 6 week rotation in an area of your interest such as art, cooking, games.

Child Care Coordinators
Caring for our youngest children is a very important MINISTRY of our church.Child care volunteers are needed on a regular and occasional basis for Sunday morning worship hours, small groups attended by mothers and couples with young children, and occasional special meetings, events or worship experiences.Child care opportunities are also available for paid staff.

Coffee Hour Host/HostessWork as a team member to assist with the setup and serving of refreshments following church services.Provide a friendly face to visitors, and new and long-time members.Volunteers serve after a single church service once every 3-4 months.
